Hope everyone is having a fantastic day and the start of a great week!
Just wanted to jump on here and talk about music for a bit. Some people are asking me, “why a recording studio?” and a few others are asking “so why music?” So here’s a little bit of my story and my background.
I started playing piano at age 4, and ever since then I knew that music was what I wanted to do the rest of my life (1. because I love it and 2. I’m not really great at anything else haha!). After just playing piano seriously for about 8/9 years I started to simultaneously study voice and I feel like this was a game-changer for me. While I was only studying piano I accepted the music given to me. When I also started studying voice, I began to think of my own ideas and form opinions about certain elements and genres that I enjoyed and wanted to perform and be better at. This led me to Liberty University where I eventually chose to study Artist Development (Commercial Music). The four years I spent there were incredible and very foundational to who I am as an artist, performer and now, as a producer for my own music and others as well. If I had to pick a favorite thing about music and the recording process itself, it would have to be production because there are so many different avenues you can go with music. It’s so expressive and can communicate feelings and ideas so specifically but also has the ability to rest on metaphor. And I love that this doesn’t just have to be through lyrics; you can say just as much through instruments as you can with words.
Anyway, that’s a little bit of my story. I’d love it if you’d comment and let me know how you personally got into music and what your favorite thing about it is! Have a great day everyone and be blessed!
